Early in our home buying process we spoke to quite a few agents and toured homes with them. Having thus set a baseline it was an easy decision for us to chose Sophie’s services as she stood out with her attention to detail, responsiveness and knowledge of the local market. As first time home buyers, often times we felt patronized by agents we spoke to, but Sophie respected our concerns and was never impatient.

Sophie worked with our schedule and showed us several properties – pointing out the strengths and weakness of each, thus helping us zoom in the exact neighborhood and the kind of home we wanted. She also let us know firmly yet respectfully when she disagreed with our choice of home, which looking back now were indeed the wrong fit for us.

As first time buyers, homebuying appeared to be a very intimidating experience. From figuring out which area was suitable to our needs to calculating our budget, the pros and cons of various loan schemes are, and finally the incredibly difficult process of competitively bidding for a house. A good realtor’s job is to provide information and feedback about all of these areas. But the signs of a great realtor are far more subtle. Simple things as being prompt, being very thorough in research, being always aware of various deadlines and documentation requirements, and in general always being there at absolutely all times that a buyer is in doubt. A great realtor does not coax or pressurize the buyer but lays down the facts and helps the buyer to converge on a decision. Sophie has been that kind of a realtor. Sophie is extremely well aware of the market conditions, loan and financial process, location, and almost any question you may have. She provided a firm guiding hand through the home buying process – steering us away from problem houses and helping us arrive at a quick decision when we found what we were looking for. No house is perfect and there is almost always some sort of a compromise required – especially for a homebuyer on a budget. Sophie told us precisely what were the pros and cons of going for a particular house so that we could make a conscious and informed choice. If we were ever in two minds, she dissuaded us from bidding for the house as that meant that we would not be satisfied at the end of the process.

Within 10 weeks, we went from a “home-browser” to buying and closing on a house that fit our needs and budget, in time for the various tax credits that the government provided. None of it would have been possible without Sophie. I highly recommend Sophie and would certainly refer her to friends and family who are in need of an excellent realtor.

 I will start this letter with a very heartfelt thank you to Sophie. Thanks to her we are now proud owners of a new home in wonderful school district.
Being the first time buyers we were very jittery about making big decisions. But Sophie really helped us by practically hand holding us all the way through the process. Sophie had helped us searching for a house since June 2008. She is a very easy-going person. She brought us to numerous houses in  Santa Clara, San Jose, Milpitas, Fremont and Union. Sophie was very patient even though we didn’t make an offer for more than a year. During the servere economy downturn, she didn’t pressure us to buy.

Sophie told us the pros and cons of different locations. Finally, we decided to make my first offer to a house  in August, 2009. She researched the comparable house selling price in the area and let us decide on the offer price.
